Last Monday, I was actually sitting for my final exam paper and the very next day I was assigned to Penang for work. Some of my friends recommended me to take the Aeroline, a first class shuttle bus.
Convenient way to fly?? Hmm...air turbulence on the highway??
The double decker bus departed from 1Utama
Talk about Penang, you will end up talking about food. Knowing me, I was easily lured by my colleague to go on food fest during our nights in Penang. On Tuesday night, we crossed over to the mainland and went to Taman Chai Leng to gang up with 2 more female colleague for dinner.
Steamboat ingredients are normal but the special thing about this steamboat is their 6-7 types of spicy sauce. I'm loving it.
According to my colleague, the best Lin Chi Kang is from the Hello Kitty Lin Chi Kang Stall. Look out for the Hello Kitty stall if you have the chance to eat here. Worth trying anyway.
1st Highlight of the night..I have never tried such delicious BBQ Chicken Wings in my life before.
So-so fried meehun with fried fu-chuk
Sad looking Wan Tan Mee
Fried oyster.
After dinner, we went to this place called AutoCity, Juru and I was quite impressed with the area because the shops are so different from those that we see in KL and PJ. Somehow you will feel like you are out of Malaysia.
Manhattan Fish Market, Sushi King, KFC, SOHO, Starbucks and etc
I was kinda excited when I saw the 2 Hello Kitty (Kitties?) at the Penang Lantern Festival 2007. I thought it was some funfair or carnival but its all about enjoying the colourful lanterns and brightly lighted up christmas trees. Entrance ticket for an adult is RM15.
The 4 of us ended up having 1 jug of beer and chat till midnight.
On Wednesday night, we went to Gurney Drive to buy
Chicken skins, nuggets and crab meat balls... Sinful sial!!
Then we went to this cosy restaurant just along Gurney Drive. Visitors might think that this is just a normal house because the sign board of the restaurant is quite small. The restaurant's name is Crepe's Cottage, I think.
Roast Chicken on Crepe. Black-peppered boneless whole leg chicken bathed in Crepe's Cottage secret sauce.
Hidden Treasure. I think the girls will like this dish because the treasure are all vege and small slices of chicken meat.
The special thing about this Crepe Cottage is their dessert and the ambience.
I can't remember all the names of the desserts that we ordered. The 4 of us really scared the crap out of our director and manager because we acted as if we have not eaten for weeks. Do give this restaurant a try if you happen to be in Penang but don't expect fast service because the aunties grandmas cook very slow.
