Caught in the Act

Iggy and Beauty Chock are best friends and both graduated from ACCA sometime ago. Both of them had a steady job in the world's leading accounting firm, YE and GMPK. One day, YE's partners found out that Iggy has been spending unimaginable huge amount of time playing Parking Wars, Who has the Biggest Brain, Bowling Buddies, Friends for Sale, SuperPoke, Office Poke and scribbling other people's Wall in Facebook. In fact, it was the 3rd time that they caught him Facebooking during office hours.

Immediately, they terminated his contract with YE. Poor auditor, now he has no job and have all the time in the world at home to Facebook everyday. Feeling very down and disappointed to be terminated by the YE's partners, Iggy called up Beauty Chock and shared his problems with her. Being a nice buddy, she planned a trip to Phuket to cheer him up and tries to persuade him to join GMPK. She also told him that there is rumour-rumour that all staff are allowed to Facebook every 45 minutes in office, this is to keep the employees' brain fresh and produce excellent work in casting and vouching without falling asleep. Sounds great rite? Immediately Iggy decided that he should work in GMPK but deep down inside, he knew that its very tough to get accepted into GMPK if there are no employees quiting GMPK in the near future.

How can he join GMPK? Murdering Beauty Chock is the best option around since no employees want to leave GMPK which provides good benefits and force them to Facebook every 45 minutes. Since then, Beauty Chock's days are numbered. Iggy is waiting to take action during their trip to Phuket's Prompthep Cape.

After watching Beauty's tragic fall, Iggy posed like some super hero character in Final Fantasy with the sunset backdrop.



Beauty Chock managed to survive the fall and had to rest for few days before she can resume work at GMPK. Iggy is currently eating Nasi Lemak everyday in Sungai Buloh Prison as he was convicted and sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment for attempts to murder a beauty and a best friend for his own benefit.

Sandakan

Sandakan, the second largest city in the state of Sabah was my final destination for this month of May. Once I was informed that I will be going to Sandakan, I went online and asked my friends especially RLJM to find out A-Z about Sandakan.

First on the menu is the Yau Char Kwai with Kaya from this place called Mile 4. This simple dessert can be DIY at home. Taste quite good actually. Once you ate one, you can't stop. Haha..

Sandakan is located on the east coast, therefore the seafood is cheap there. The locals came up with this dish called Seafood Bak Kut Teh. During lunch, we went to Kedai Syn Lok Bak Kut Teh which is situated at Bandar Nam Tung to solve our taste bud's curiosity...

You must really try this dish if you happen to be in Sandakan, really taste delicious. You can also DIY at home but seafood in Sandakan is cheap. Total bill for the lunch is RM 33.80.

Nearby Bandar Nam Tung and up above the hill, PUU JIH SYH Temple offers a great view of the Sandakan town and the sea.

Unlike the Doi Suthep temple in Chiang Mai, the entrance into the PUU JIH SYH temple is free. But will be closed around 6pm onwards.

If you get hold of the Sandakan Map, you will find the icon or details of the famous Agnes Keith house and the English Tea House accessible using the Tangga Seribu or One Hundred Steps path. Confusing?

I think so too. Of course its not One Hundred Steps, its One Thousand Steps. Experiment will be done later.

Its been quite some time since I last exercised and going up the hill and Tangga Seribu almost killed me instantly (exaggerate). I am damn fit ok?! Let's visit the English Tea House and Restaurant first.

At the entrance of the house, tourists are reminded not to snap pictures or record anything using their video camera or handphones. I am someone who follows such instructions because I do not want to see any unwanted images in my camera. Some say that the house is haunted although it has been refurbished but I had this spooky feeling when I stepped into the house.

During my visit there, there was no one in the house and it was darn quiet. After reading the history and admiring the old photos in the kitchen and living room, we went up to the second floor. I was the first to step into the master bedroom and once I stepped into the room, a lady in a blue baju kurung was slowly combing her long hair infront of the oval shape mirror. Upon seeing me, she slowly turned around and smiled then I realised she's actually the cleaner of the house. Damn it..why must she comb her in that manner?!?!

In that masterbed room, there is a small article about the haunted house. Obviously I read it and to make things worst, the freaking lady scared the shit out of me again. She walked around without a single creaking sound from the wooden floor. As I turn out of the room, there she was, walking in front of me again.

Dear Readers, I know she's a human because her feet is touching the ground ok?!

On our way back, my friend suggested that we should calculate the steps we take to reach the foot of the hill using the same way, Tangga Seribu.

After One Hundred Steps, he is not even halfway. LOL

Ok, its time for seafood dinner. RJLM suggested me to have seafood dinner at Pasir Putih and after checking with the local people, they gave us the direction using the map and advised us to take the taxi which can cost us up to RM 1O for one way for a 3-4 km distance. Being an adventurous and jimat-cermat guy , I decided that taking a bus with the locals are more fun. The fare was only RM1.50 for both ways.

Next time I will make my way back into Sandakan again to visit the world-famous Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve, precious home of the last wild Orang-Utans of Northern Borneo. Anyone wanna tag along to visit their cousins??

Palembang, Indonesia

Sorry for the slow update once again. Hehe..shortly after I came back from Jakarta, I was on my way back into Indonesia again. My destination this time has something to do with Parameswara.

Definitely not Melaka because Melaka is not in Indonesia.

Answer : Palembang.

As far as I know, Palembang is not a tourist area and its more of a commercial and industrial area.

Horison Hotel provides free shuttle service to the famous places in Palembang during the weekend. Since its free, why not just hop on the van and walk around rite?

On Saturday night, I checked with the receptionist in the hotel regarding the places printed on the map of Palembang and also the places which the hotel provides free shuttle to bring us there.

Benteng Kuto Besak

I thought there is a museum behind the Benteng but as we walked pass the entrance. We were stopped by the guard and he said that visitors are not allowed to go in because this is military area. Damn.. come all the way here just to see the wall?!?!?!

Just opposite the Benteng, its the Musi River.

18-SX

This is the Ampera Bridge, the main characteristics of Palembang. It was built on 1962-1965 and has 78m high of tower.

When you are around this area, those boat owners will approach you and offer to take you to other small island nearby Palembang. Especially the Kemaro Island which is about 6 kilometers from the Ampera Bridge.

The boat ride was kinda fun because:-

1) No lifejacket was provided;

2) During the journey, the boat was making all sort of weird sound as if its gonna sink everytime it hits the wave created by other boats;

3) the unlucky one will get a taste of the brownish water from the Musi River

The Chinese vihara (klenteng Hok Tjing Rio) which are under renovation when we were there. Kemaro island is a famous place among the Chinese as the religious event Cap Go Meh is held there very Chinese New Year.
